Technology

Yes. We do have wireless all over campus. Your conference notebook will have instructions on how to access the network.

Are there other computers on campus where I can check my email?

Definitely! Our PC and Mac lab, located in the Ryan Library will be available to you throughout the day.

Attire/Packing List

What is the dress code?

Attire for the conference is business casual. With so many interpretations of this, know that there will be people in jeans, shorts, khakis, skirts, etc. Whatever the summer dress is in your office will be fine. We want you to come, feel comfortable and enjoy! And don't forget-San Diego is a layer city. The sunshine is nice and warm, but some of us West-Coasters get a little chilly in the shade. Bring your sweaters!

What about the banquet?

There's no need to be formal, but dress nicely. More info to come soon!

What's the weather like?

San Diego generally has great summer weather-sunny and in the high 70s, low 80s, with very little humidity. However, as our locals can attest, we are sometimes struck with "June gloom," which brings overcast skies and a little cooler weather. We're hoping this conference is early enough that we miss the June gloom entirely, but it's smart to bring clothing layers just in case!

What do I pack?

Activities and Events

Are you close to the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Seaport Village, etc.?

Definitely. PLNU's campus is close to many attractions of interest. Downtown San Diego is just ten minutes from campus, and is home to Petco Park and the San Diego Padres, Horton Plaza Shopping Center, the San Diego Civic Theater, Seaport Village, and much more.

We are also ten minutes from Balboa Park, which houses more than 15 museums (including the San Diego Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, the Rueben H. Fleet Science Center, and more), various gardens and park areas, as well as the San Diego Zoo.

We are about five minutes from Sea World, 15 minutes from Coronado Island and the historic Hotel Del Coronado, 20 minutes from La Jolla (and its shopping, dining, beaches, snorkeling, etc), 30 minutes from the US border and Mexico, and about two seconds from the beach. We will be offering transportation to some of those places during our free time!

Are there other activities we can do before or after the conference in the area?

Absolutely. For those activities not offered in free time, we'd encourage you to take advantage of the special local hotel conference rates, and stay an extra day!

Will there be NACCAP games? What will they be like? Will there be an alternate to the games?

This year, we want you to shine in other ways. We know that the NACCAP games have held great memories for many within the organization, but this year we want to do something a bit different. Get a new group of friends together and come prepared for your best Shining Moment at Club NACCAP. We want to see your videos, skits, talents! Come find out all the new things we have planned!

What is Club NACCAP?

This year, we're encouraging schools to bring their own "Shining Moments" to our Club NACCAP, whether it's in the form of a skit, a video, a song, or whatever you come up with! Just think about how you want to highlight the little things that make our lives in Admissions fun, crazy, unique and different. Click here for more information.

Will golfing be available?

Yes! Details to come!
