Rookie of the Year Award

Goal

To provide recognition for an outstanding rookie professional within each region of NACCAP (Northwest, Southwest, Great Lakes, Southeast, Canada, Midwest)

Scope

To be chosen annually representing each region and will be awarded at the annual conference

Anyone from any region may nominate someone for a Rookie of the Year Award irrespective of the region in which the nominator resides

Considerations

Members of the NACCAP Board of Directors or NACCAP staff are not eligible for consideration.

Any member of a staff may be nominated for the award including assistants, associates, and senior directors or deans, guidance counselors, admissions counselors, recruiters, visit coordinators, office managers, etc.

Criteria

  1. Nominees must have at least six months but less than two years of service in the admissions/counseling profession at a NACCAP member institution.
  2. Nominees should be considered for significant contributions made to the profession and NACCAP that would otherwise go unnoticed. Outstanding efforts to serve the needs of the nominee's institution are appropriate to consider for receiving this award.
  3. Nominations should not be considered solely on numerical success in achieving enrollment or counseling goals but rather on contributions made to the betterment of the whole.
